Everything evolves...

AFQY is evolving, yet again, as do all great brands who move with the times, but what does that mean? By our reckoning there are both internal pressures and external pressures and pending any business or market, these are different and unique as the business itself.

Firstly why was AFQY created, this context will help understand the changes coming. The cause behind AFQY was to show a better way of engaging on all levels. One level that stands out is being human and relates to how we create an environment of equality by removing the constructs that we usually judge people with, such as what they do for a job.

When we ask this question, we immediately judge them and their value to you, their status in the world and whether you'll continue talking to them or find a quick escape like the toilet stop, the phone call, or the old friend you just saw walk in, excuse me I'll be back... but they seldom do.

So we took it away, ell we moved it to minimum 3rd question, you may not even ask it at all, but you can't ask it til the 3rd question. Which leads us on to those first two questions??

We say, "Find out the rugby or ballet" - this shows that either extremes are accepted, then we through in, "... or Cross-stitch or Motor-cross..." which are two more extremes (and there is alliteration which helps make it easy to remember), so by the time an attendee has heard this, they know they are in an accepting environment. They feel psychologically safe, but are yet to test it out.

Before I let them get amongst it, my final line is, "...so grab a drink to keep ya whistle wet, then turn around and start a conversation with anyone, they've all be told the same thing and are expecting it," and I watch the, follow the bizarre instructions, trusting what I said, and testing what sounds ok...

And it is, it is, they're networking and alive!

The magic is seeing their face upon the first response received, the flash of relief, and the smile of acceptance. This is the sense of belonging we create in minutes between strangers, and over the two hours, it grows, and they feel akin to AFQY.

Thats great, what's changing? Whats evolving... well the above will never change, but there is change afoot...
